Presented on a long 52 inch longuard chain with a dog clip swivel, an antique Georgian (1830's) locket exquisitely hand engraved with a scrolled ornamentation to one side and to the other a joyful floribunda centred with Roses (for LOVE), all on mellow hued brass plated with yellow Gold which was a popular alternative to the more expensive solid Gold.
A watch style locket such as this was immensely fashionable at the time and was oft worn on a long chain tucked into the waist. This lovely example is one of the nicest we've had the luck to find, and it opens just as a watch does with a space for a favourite photograph or keepsake.
It measures 3.5cm across the face and hangs at 26 inches as seen with the chain doubled but could easily be worn in different ways and so is a marvellously versatile piece of antique jewellery.
